The Next Big Thing:
Hot Desk Edition
The Wheeler Center's Hot Desk Fellowship awards 21 writers each year, granting them a $1000 stipend, workspace in the Wheeler Centre over a ten-week period, and a showcase night at The Moat to perform part of their work.
During the showcase, I performed a piece from Chapter 3. It involved a cockfight, adventurous escapade, and character reflections on power and freedom. I also got to listen to excerpts by fellow Hot Deskers, Alex Creece and Georgia Kartas which were imaginative, vulnerable, and immersive.
